  1. Any intelligent human would see that these animals are suffering. No animal, let along a majestic, sentient, creature should be exploited like this. I would never ride an elephant. Any who does deserves to be them for a day.

I am a frequent traveller who loves all animals. I would never, and will never, spend tourist dollars at anyplace that uses elephants (or any other wild animal) for entertainment. Elephants are highly sensitive beings, with intricate social structures. To steal them from their families and put them in safaris for human entertainment is the ultimate cruelty. I will not be a part of this, and refuse to tour countries that engage in such activities.

The elephants deserve RESPECT .. and that means leaving them in freedom and without brutally murdering them for ivory. Their ivory belongs TO THEM! Circuses (for instance) highly abuse by harming them using electrocution etc. in order to break their spirits and having them perform UNNATURAL things that lead to arthritis in their legs, simply as they are not “made” to do artistic stunts; so humans should not abuse them for “humans’ entertainment”, not tearing them apart from their herds – as it so often happens for life-long… They are no animals for a life in lonelieness or in captivity. On the contrary, they are social animals that NEED the company of their own kind in the herds. Humans should not separate them from freedom and their wild herds, where they belong to roam. The baby-elephants need their mother milk FOR YEARS.. When their mothers are murdered, they often die too. FAMILY-LIFE (their own kind) is of highest need of elephants.. So: NO SAFARIS and other kind of abusing them anymore, please! I WILL NEVER RIDE ON AN ELEPHANT!!

Elephants live long lives, are very intelligent family creatures. Yet mankind Captures them as babies, treats them brutally, inhumanely and cruelly for the poor elephants entire life. Would you like to be kidnaped, treated similarly for you retire life. The poor elephants are so often kept in solitary confinement, even more cruel; it causes mental problem. Do you really want to be that kind of person, I will not call you a “man” that would to too generous to one so inhumane.

  40. Elephants are majestic, fairly innocent, heart stopping amazing creatures with such memories that everyone is left awed. To think that anyone wants to hurt them, or ride them… it makes me sick! My insides curl, my stomach churns, I clench my fists so tight my knuckles turn white and my heart just drops. It makes me disgusted, furious and so heartbroken! Elephants deserve to live all their days peacefully and be able to eat and drink without being chained down or beaten! I guess… I guess I can understand why tourists and people would love to ride an elephant, it is an amazing experience I suppose, but… they don’t understand that those elephants are tortured and if the people think of one bad thing, or the children complain about the ride being not smooth or too slow…. they get beaten! People don’t need to ride the elephants, it’s just something FUN! Go to a water park or roller skating, that’s FUN, not riding a tortured, old elephant that deserves to be in relative peace and quiet, to rest. It really makes me mad. SAVE THE ELEPHANTS! I really, really, really want to myself, but I’m only 11 turning 12….. I’m not 13 yet. Even though I’m still almost a teenager, I have words and I really thank anyone who respects them. Respects Elephants. Respects Earth.

Promoting Elephant camps that are now dropping the saddles and turning to the more ‘natural’ interactions with these beauties is what we should endeavour to promote every day.
